- Tomei JP V2 headers
- Berk resonated TP
- R1 Titan Amuse Y-Pipe
- R1 Titan Amuse Muffler

Hey guys,
I’m trying to diagnose a persistent issue on my 2006 350Z RevUp (VQ35DE) and would appreciate some input from people with similar setups.
Current setup:
- Tomei V2 JPN headers
- Berk resonated test pipes
- Amuse R1 Titan Y-pipe
- Amuse R1 Titan muffler
The car runs well, but I have a noticeable hissing / air-leak type sound during deceleration (around 2500–1600 rpm).
At the moment, i have Berk gasket between header and TP, chinese gaskets between TP and Y-pipe and Y-pipe - muffler.
Important note:
When I previously ran a full Tomei exhaust setup (Y-pipe + catback included), I did NOT have this issue.
My questions:
- Do you think this hiss is more likely a small exhaust leak rather than a design characteristic of the setup?
-Could upgrading to OEM Nissan (Headers-> TP) + CZP thick gaskets realistically solve this issue?
- Or would it make more sense to replace the Berk resonated test pipes with Helmholtz-style resonated test pipes (like Helmz / ART type) to smooth out the sound?
Any experience with similar setups would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance 🙏
