i currently have a cat, but she was an older stray when i got her and i have no idea how old she is, i just know that she’s getting up there in age, and probably doesn’t have a whole lot of time left on earth. i wanted to get a dog after her, but my roommates won’t let me, because they don’t like dogs apparently, so im get a hamster instead and absolutely spoiling it. but ive been told that they’re not very social at first, and have to warm up to you? how long did it take before your little buddy warmed up to you, and what are some things you do to spend time with them? i already planned on getting a playpen for it to run around and get some exercise (as well as a large, 4-tier, fancy cage) but when i wanna hold it and hang out with it, how long should i wait? i was thinking maybe feed it treats through its cage until it feels comfortable enough being around me, but ive never owned a hamster before, so idk..
