Why does having anxiety make you feel off balance and slightly light headed?

Is there science behind it? Since my recent health anxiety flare up, I feel a little light headed, sometimes turning my head has a slight lag if I go too fast, I feel off balance when I walk sometimes like the ground isn't even. It's all very slight but it throws me sometimes and I feel a rise of anxiety when I don't feel steady.

I know I have low iron but didn't notice this until the anxiety got worse.

Adding something else to pooped out effexor?

I take effexor and have been tapering down from 75mg I've been at for 9 years. I've taken 2 years to get to around 50mg now.

The med caused too much apathy and emotional blunting so I decided it was time to get off.

After a health drama late last year, I have health anxiety and increased anxiety in general which the effexor isn't touching (panic attacks, messed up guts, anxiety, feeling off balance etc)

My doc tried to get me to start a prozac bridge to help the taper and my emotions but it's messed my stomach up even more and given me chronic diarrhea after only 2 days on 5mg. It was so bad it woke me at night to use the bathroom.

I have existing gastritis so it could exacerbate things but even with gastritis I only need the bathroom 2-3 times for bowel motions, rather than the ridiculous 8 and cramping I had, followed by another 5 before lunch the next day.

I've also noticed increased anxiety.

I've paused taking the prozac due to the side effects and am waiting to hear from my doctor.

What can be safely taken with effexor to help my anxiety while I wean down? I'd prefer not something in the same class as effexor and prozac.

Diarrhea at 5mg?

I'm only 2 days on and have pooped 6 times today. Is there anything I can take to support my stomach while my body gets used to this? I already have the question of SIBO hanging over me, so this is an increase of my usual 2-3 poops a day.

Adding prozac to effexor? Will it help anxiety?

I've been tapering from Effexor 75mg for a good while (been on 8 years, started tapering because was emotionally dead). It's been a good slow hyperbolic taper (2 years). I had some health issues end of last year that have resulted in some significant health anxiety and my panic attacks and general anxiety have resumed in force.

My doc wants me to start on a low dose of Prozac to help me get my life back on track and continue the Effexor taper. Once off Effexor, we can taper the Prozac or switch to something else.

Because of the health anxiety aspect, I'm scared to add it. I don't want it to make more anxiety for me, cause serotonin syndrome, give me side effects, etc. Eventually I want to be off all meds, but where I used to be able to see that, now I can't because of all the health anxiety.

TLDR; scared to start prozac, worried it'll make things worse, need support

Hi. Does anyone else experience a slight visual lag when turning their head too fast? It's almost vertigo like but not quite the same. I constantly feel slightly off balance. It's usually worse in the morning but it feels like vertigo just hangs out in the background waiting for my eyes to track badly before it reminds me it's there.

Hi everyone. I was found to have chronic gastritis on a recent endoscopy while looking for reasons why my iron supplements won't absorb.

My GP prescribed a PPI (pantoprazole) and gave me no further advice. I don't know how long to take it for, if I need to change my diet, what could have caused it, etc.

I was wondering if anyone here can fill in the blanks for me? I don't use anything stronger than paracetamol, don't drink or smoke or have coffee or energy drinks.

There was no h pylori in the biopsy they took. Negative coeliac too.

I've been on venlafaxine for about 8 years and late last year had some chronic stress which is the only thing I can think of that caused this.

I already have foods I'm not eating (tomato, chocolate, etc) but I don't know how long it will take to heal, if I need to change my diet more, or what else I need to do.

I have a ferritin of 17 and switched to a heme based supplement due to not being able to tolerate others now.

Just after any advice on how to heal and how long it takes etc.

Usually to half an hour before I need to go to the bathroom, my body will send out adrenaline for no reason, it raises my heart rate and then my anxiety chimes in. Once I've been to the bathroom, things will settle. It's usually worse in the week or 2 before my period.

I asked AI and it said my low ferritin (17) is a driver of my nervous system being disregulated but I want to know if anyone else experiences this and if it's possible to make it stop?

Like half an hour before I need to go to the bathroom, my body will send out adrenline for no reason which sets my anxiety off and makes my heart rate go up. Once I've been to the bathroom, things will settle.

How do I stop this?

Most of the things I'm interested in are sedentary hobbies. Reading, writing, computer games, etc. What are some non sedentary hobbies I could take up that I can do at home?
