How do you figure out your needs?

What I mean with the title is that I have no clue how to figure out what fits or doesn't fit for me. Like for example, I got no clue if I have sensory issues (maybe because I feel numb or "flat" 90% of the time) or if I mask or not. I know I have some needs, but Im not sure what does would be or how to actually notice it?

For context, I've been recently diagnosed with autism and I'm trying to wrap my head around it since I gotta take care of myself somehow. I am terrible at knowing what I feel and it's like I'm guessing and hoping it's right. I'm wondering if some of you also have this issue (knowing what works for you and what doesn't) and what you do about it. Should I just try some of the standard advice I heard like for example wearing noise-cancelling earbuds outside? I can provide some details if needed. Thanks!
