73m. After this year's wellness check my primary care doctor recommended a hearing test. Here are the results. I also opted for a QuickSIN.
I knew I had mild high frequency loss for decades, but it is starting to look like I might need HAs now. Although I don't go out to dinner with groups very often when I do I'm finding it hard to hear people's conversions.
I volunteer at a couple of food banks. The other day there were two new people. The room was a bit noisy and I found I had to ask them to repeat their names three times before I got them right.
Also, my wife and I are casual birders. For the last couple of years she can always hear a kingfisher first. Yesterday there was a hummingbird flying around. She could hear it, but even though it was fairly close I couldn't hear it at all.
I'm retired so workplace noise isn't an issue. And I'm not in big groups very often. But I would like to hear those hummingbirds again.
Just starting out on the process, but my audiologist mentioned Phonak Infinio Sphere Ultras. I see Oticon 1 is also a popular high end model. Price isn't a driving factor. Mostly I'd like to hear was well as I can while I can.
For those who might be interested I've included two test results from my AirPod Pros. One was from 3 days before my audiologist's test and the second from nearly 2 years ago.
Thoughts and comments more than welcome. Thanks and take care.
