Our cosmic horror incremental, Hail the Devourer, just shipped its first major update

Our game leans on the darkly comedic side of cosmic horror, but with a pinch of slow dread. Just thought you all might get a kick out of it for some light fun.

Hail the Devourer is a hover-to-destroy incremental where you play a cult acolyte feeding cities to an incomprehensible entity. There's elemental shrines, relics, and the usual eldritch flavor running through it.

We just shipped our first major update, version 1.5 "In the Arms of the Devourer," and wanted to share it with this community. Totally understand if it's not your thing.

Free demo's up on Steam if you want to give it a try.

Got laid off, started a game company, released first game on Steam, all in 4 months.

We're a small team of three who spent 10+ years making VR apps for mental health and got laid off 4 months ago. Hail the Devourer is our first game, a neon-drenched cosmic horror inspired incremental.

We posted here about 6 weeks ago and the response blew us away. Since then we've been pushing out regular updates culminating in this first major one, version 1.5 "In the Arms of the Devourer." We wanted to genuinely thank everybody who had a chance to play. The feedback here in this subreddit shaped our updates directly. We've added a ton of fun new features, totally streamlined our old click mechanic to a hover-based one, and made a major shift in our upgrade progression system.

This process has been very educational for us. Thank you again for your time and ideas!

Free demo is up and updated too.
