You were somewhere familiar. Somewhere you considered home, somewhere pleasant and warm and comfortable to you.
Then you walked through that door and now you're standing in a forest you don't recognize, next to a lighthouse that doesn't seem to shine a beam, looking at a very pleasant bed and breakfast. An old woman is standing out front, and she seems entirely unsurprised to see you.
She's made tea. She's holding a cup out to you. And she'd like to offer you a job.

Important: I use generative AI for images and some worldbuilding. I do not use AI for any information or writing that you will see as a player. Every message you receive from me as your DM will be written by me.
I am aware of how controversial this stance is in this community and I understand - but unless you're an artist who can commission multiple portraits for free, generative AI is the cheapest way to provide interesting images of my setting and world. Someday I may be able to commission actual art for my world, but that day is not today.

The Woodstone Delivery Service is a Discord-based PBP campaign using D&D 5.5e (2024) rules. Mostly. You will play a character built for the Forgotten Realms or any official (or unofficial) D&D setting - someone with no knowledge of where they've ended up or why. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to deliver parcels, packages, and product of a wide variety. What happens along the way is the game.
What to expect:
- Forum style solo channels alongside shared spaces - you have your own story and a shared one
- Sandbox style campaign with a structured job board to anchor and guide you so you have at least some direction
- A world that rewards curiosity and punishes apathy
- Posting expectations of a few times per week minimum - I'm going to prefer quality over quantity, but consistency matters
I will implement a ping system to give a heads up to players that haven't responded to something for more than 12 hours. I expect this to go both ways - if I haven't responded to you, I'd appreciate a ping to remind me. There's a good chance I opened the message without realizing it and Discord marked it as read.
What I'm looking for:
- Players who are interested in PBP. I don't care if you're new - I care if you try.
- Characters with personality. This isn't a min/max game.
- People who can communicate. If life happens, just say so.
I recruit more players than I need - the server will quickly have 10+ people in it and I let you filter yourselves out as time goes on. I'd rather have too many players than not enough.
If you're interested, message me on Discord: SebWinters. When you do, answer these for me - I do not do applications for my recruitment, I prefer an interview process. These questions help me filter out players.
What's a rule you've had a character follow that you never told anyone about?
What's the most politely you've ever gotten yourself killed in a game?
What's a smell a character of yours associates with safety?
Tell me about your character ideas for this game. I will not share what the classes and races of other prospective players are. I do not want you to care about group "balance".
Have a cuppa, dear. Earl grey is always delighted for company.
