The year is 1986.

Elm Creek is the kind of town where people forget to lock their doors at night. The sheriff is best friends with the principal, whose daughter is marrying the mayor, and everybody knows everything about everybody. Friday nights mean football games under flickering stadium lights. The local diner still knows your order before you sit down. Bikes get left on lawns. Streetlights buzz softly as they blink on one by one when the sun sets.

Lately, though, things have felt a little off.

A flicker in the air that wasn’t there before. A strange feeling when you're in the dark alone. Moments where your reflection doesn’t quite match you. A buzzing in your very bones. Dreams that feel too real.

Something’s changing.
Something you can’t explain. You swear it’s NOT the puberty changes you’ve been warned about in Mr. Abbott’s painful “growing” health class. It’s definitely just as weird and embarrassing, though.

Maybe this is the year something interesting happens in the quiet little town of Elm’s Creek

Hello there, everyone!

I go by “A” online and I have been itching to play a MASKS game….so logically I was like “what if I just…didn’t use Halcyon and made my own spin on the game!” One thing lead to another and Elm Creek was born with a fun story filled with whacky 80’s hijinks. Personally, I’ve always been a huge fan of the coming-of-age stories with something just a little bit disquieting in the background.

I was hoping to lead a small group of maybe 3-4 people through this story that I may have gotten a little over invested in! The plan would be for a group of friends in their senior or last year of high school to start looking into the mysteries of Elm Creek as well as their own changing selves! There is an opportunity for the story to have multiple arcs and eventually LEAVE Elm Creek for the bigger world.

I should specify this is definitely my first time GMing Masks, but I have played a handful of games! The narrative focus is mostly what I’m after, and I think we can make MOST playbooks fit pretty well!!

I am 25, have been playing TTRPGs for the past 8 years, PBP for the past 3 years and have roleplayed online for the past 10! I’m a huge nerd and a fan of working on character-driven stories, with arcs for each character that let us see them grow into themselves and their abilities in a satisfying way!

Hey! This is my first time actively seeking players here, and I hope this will suffice. I have never seen anyone mention this game here before through my months of searching for a game, and I finally acquired the books for myself. Therefore, today I want to invite you to an idea that has been brewing in my head for a long while! Spies, thrills, lewdness, and modern hijinks in the modern world! Inspired by the likes of Mission Impossible, James Bond, and other similar things, this TTRPG offers you an experience from the perspective of a classic action movie hero from the 90s and early 2000s, including archetypes, spy gadgets, and many things similar to that. But to add to that, I am, alas, a pervert; therefore, I would like to have a fun time playing spies with lewdness attached. Seducing the targets, infiltrating raunchy parties, having relations with your handlers, and having quick hot encounters across the globe while you put on sunglasses, stop criminals, and show them that your gun fu is better than theirs! With that in mind, here's a little lore introduction.

Nobody knows it quite as much as the leader of the GDMC, the department opened in United states and eventually finding its way to independance across the world through dealing with many threats that lurk within the shadows, operating outside of many countries jurisdiction. After their successful assistance in dissolving the brewing nuclear conflict between USSR and USA, they were given full ability to operate on their own and under their dutiful watch many threats that would have the world plunged into chaos were defeated and removed. And today, they need YOU. Whoever you are - a badass with a gun, a former cop, a scientist with a know-how or even a noble criminal willing to find amends for your actions, you just may be able to change the world! Hi there! I'm CJ or Blarp on discord. If you've clicked on this post it's probably because you recognize the quote above and are at least a fan of Marvel! If so, keep reading because this might just be the game for you.

I'm reaching out on behalf of a group of dedicated Marvel RPG players who have reached a rut in our game. Recently our game has slowed down and our GM needed to take a break. Since then we've tried to keep the game afloat ourselves, but have been struggling to be able to run the game consistently while allowing everyone to play as the characters they've created and love so much.

I'm making this post to ask if there is any GM that would be willing to help our small group of ragtag heroes known as the Hotshots get back on our feet and fight off evil in the world we've come to know. At the same time, we think it could be nice to get a new player into the game to help freshen things up and to give our new GM someone else they can work with so they don't feel entirely alone.

If you're still reading then I hope you're truly interested in applying or at least would like to reach out. I know many people like to know details first so here they are. We have 5 players, each with their own personal character that are currently rank 3. We have access to the Marvel Multiverse RPG books for now, so that's not a requirement for the GM to supply. We're fairly consistent posters, posting several times a day when the game is running smoothly.

We were playing through The Cataclysm of Kang book when the game started to slow down. Since then we've been running smaller "special edition" adventures as an interim. To make the transition a little easier, we were hoping to start with a premade adventure if you as the GM would like. We have two that we've picked out, and can supply either. Above, huge creatures pace. The vicious cat-witch Sabrina jealously guards her domain. Outside, in the fields and pond and orchard, even stranger events are afoot. Can you help save the settlement before it’s too late, or will it be swallowed by the chaos that surrounds it?

Looking for 4 players to join a game based around the Estate campaign! It is a mini-hexcrawl sandbox filled with colorful denizens, warring factions, and strange dungeons to explore.

Tone: You've heard of Grimdark? This is Cozydark. A cute world with lots of fun characters and locations, but filled with all of the tension and terror a tiny creature at the bottom of the food chain would expect.

The lifeblood of Rokugani commerce, the River of Gold, is named for the golden coins that flow from the trade conducted along its banks. The river courses through the very heart of the Empire’s largest city, Journey’s End or—as it is better known—the City of Lies. Situated in the northern domains of the Snake Clan, the infamous city’s sinister intrigues and endless shadowy contests rival those of the Imperial City itself. Merchant ships stand to earn fortunes for their patrons in the Great Clans by shipping goods and commodities from Journey’s End, past the Kitsune Woods, all the way to the falls where the River of Gold empties into Earthquake Fish Bay. And wherever large purses of coin change hands, greed and violence are sure to follow.

It has a well-earned reputation as a den of vice: it is the center of the Empire’s necessary poppy trade, is home to many criminal organizations, has a corrupt city government, and is all but run by gangs of firefighters who battle for territory throughout the city’s six districts. Influence there is divided among wealthy merchants, Snake Clan nobles, and the more noteworthy commoners, resulting in an uneasy equality that many samurai regard as chaotic. Yet this chaos is deemed a necessary evil by the city’s Snake lords, as Journey’s End City is not only the Empire’s primary source of opium—one of the few effective painkillers available and an important medication when used responsibly—but also an important cover for more clandestine operations. The city’s lack of virtue has become a necessary part of its very existence, so the Snake seek not to clean up its streets but merely to contain the vice.

Greetings, brave and noble samurai! How do I know you're samurai? Because a _heimen_ could never read this ad, much less read at all! Ohohoho!

I've been having an itching for some classic samurai gaming, but seeing as I'm unable to find a game, I've decided to make one! this is a game using **Legend of the Five Rings - Fourth Edition** as its foundation. I've done some changes, such as renaming clans and sliding some numbers around. I've added my own little twist to the lore by making all characters Beastmen! You're a part of the Lion clan? Then you're part lion! (Or a similar pack-based hunter). What's the point of every clan being named after an animal if it's not relevant...?

"But," I hear you ask, "What is Legend of the Five Rings?"

Legend of the Five Rings (often shortened to "L5R") is a fantasy game, with magic and monsters, but it is not about killing monsters, collecting treasure, and rescuing princesses. It is a game about honor, heroism, and the moral consequences associated with the samurai code of Bushido. Rokugan is a world with a rigid code of conduct, morality, and authority. Samurai do not adventure for gold. They do not roam the land in search of vorpal blades conveniently nestled in the caves of wandering ogres. They honor their families, lords, and ancestors by respecting the traditions set forth by over 1,000 years of history and valor. What use are gems and flying carpets to the samurai, who carries the soul of his grandfather and the burden of tradition everywhere he walks?

It should be noted that L5R is not about playing a real- world samurai, but rather about the romanticized vision of samurai found in stories and film, a vision in which Honor and Bushido have real meaning and force. It's about creating the mythical and legendary tales of samurai who excel in their station. Such stories are not based on rational self-interest or self-preservation, but rather on heroic conduct in the tradition of Bushido. So if you don't know all the details of how samurai addressed each other, if you don't remember the myriad subtle differences between the Heian, Kamakura, Muromachi, Nara, Edo, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa eras of historical Japan - don't sweat it too much! Rokugan is ultimately a fantasy world, a fusion of Asian culture from many eras and many peoples. Samurai legends do not need to concern themselves with every mispronounced word or poorly placed Japanese honorific.

Bushido is the centerpiece of L5R, the fulcrum of every scene, act, adventure, and campaign. It is, ultimately, what sets this game apart from every other RPG. Bushido is the moral code, the "way of the warrior," that informs the behavior of every samurai, whether bushi, shugenja, or scholar. It is a double-sided blade of conviction and narrow-mindedness. It is a culture of obedience and tradition. It is the path of the honorable and courageous. And it is the tool of every GM to make the players face the complex and often difficult consequences of their decisions and choices. Following Bushido is not easy, and characters' choices can twist in their hands like a bloodied knife.

With Bushido, a GM can make even the simplest adventure a daunting task, with every complication enriching the game experience. For example, consider an adventure where the dead body of a friend is finally found, but his daisho, the twin swords which mark him as a samurai, is missing. How can the body be brought back to the family honorably without the swords? Now the game is not a simple transportation mission with bandits trying to attack the caravan on the way home. Instead, the game is about the conflict between a proper funeral and a timely one. It is about honor and propriety, the things that truly matter to a samurai, not about attack rolls and Wound totals. If you are willing to embrace the moral conflicts and compelling emotional drama inherent in Bushido and the samurai life, you will find Legend of the Five Rings to be in a class apart from any other RPG.

"It sounds interesting! You said something about a place called Rokugan?"

Rokugan is a fictional kingdom, a vast Empire whose history, myths, and culture draw heavily upon the real-life history and culture of ancient and medieval Asia, primarily Japan but also including China and Korea, among others. It is a land where samurai, honorable servants of the Divine Emperor, wage war and forge peace in the name of their lords. It is a land where mighty Great Clans, each comprised of multiple ancient families, work together and against one another in hopes of accomplishing their political and military agendas. It is a land where valiant warriors, or bushi, struggle to win the day for their clans on the field of battle. It is a land where pious shugenja priests offer prayers to the multitude of Fortunes in hopes of achieving the blessings of Heaven for their lands. It is a land where courtier politicians wage an endless war of words, seeking any possible advantage for their clans. Rokugan is an Empire of honor and glory, of strife and adventure, of horror and mystery.

"How does it work?"

Simple! It's a 1d10 Roll-And-Keep system. That sounds wordy, but all it means is that for every check, you roll a certain amount of dice, keep a certain amount, and add up the total to see if you meet or beat the target number. Have a 6k3 for a DC of 15? Roll six dice, keep three, and see if they add up to a number that's greater than or equal to 15. Easy!

"So, how do I join?"

If you've read all the way to the bottom, I'll take it as a sign you're interested! We're looking for 1 or 2 more players for this adventure, but I'm happy to run this as a solo game if we don't find anyone who fits. Bring your best, and apply honestly. A well-written entry is welcome and encouraged, but it doesn't mean anything if you just say what you think you're supposed to rather than answering sincerely.

As for what I expect from applicants...

1. I am CST, but on the third shift. That means I am most active from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM, give or take. If you're not going to be awake and active at the same time, you should find another game to apply to.
2. When I say active, I don't just mean awake, I mean "awake and capable of posting more than once a day." I understand life can come up, but we're looking for high-activity players. Getting busy or not being in the mood is fine as a one-off thing, but if you can't find the time to progress the story, then we just aren't compatible as a storyteller and a player.
3. I like to write around you! I can fit in most concepts and ideas, and will let you know if I can't. My stories often feature 1-on-1 as a heavy element, from individual prologues to the opportunity to go off on your own (within reason). This adventure is gonna take place in a big city, who says you have to stay attached at the hip?
4. This game isn't necessarily going to have a horny-focus, it's more that horny is just possible. If you decide you wanna experience a (non-canon) bad end, that you wanna roleplay out the spicy scene with the character you have a crush on, or you're just feeling kinky? By all means! This is a puritan setting, but that just makes it all the more exciting when the taboo is broken!
