Hello, i've been prescribed 8mg of Amitriptyline recently by a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with anxiety but most importantly SSD (Somatic symptom disorder) because of weird, debilitating symptoms i've been struggling with for about 3 months:
Costant 24/7 void/sinking feeling in the chest like something inside is "stuck", almost zero tolerance to exercise or most movement without it causing moderate to severe tachycardia and/or shortness of breath and worsening of the previously mentioned symptoms, tachycardia and random worsening also come at rest sometimes, pains in my chest etc.. all these later caused me to develop heart illness anxiety (despite cardiologists saying my heart is fine after checks).
The thing is, i took my first dose yesterday, and i had side effects within minutes, my mouth went dry, I had pain in my throat, felt confused and "out of it" and started crying uncontrollably for no reason and couldn't stop despite not feeling sad AT ALL, plus low heart rate (48-50 bpm) despite being extremely shaken and crying which would usually cause it to go way higher
these went away overnight but today since i woke up i've been feeling insanely irritable getting angry at the smallest things (again for no reason) and the "stuck" feeling in my chest got soooo much worse.
Now, i've never been on any antidepressant so i have no idea if any of this is normal,, is it?? I'm aware that side effects are common at first and are supposed to fade away overtime but at the same time this is freaking me out so much I'm considering not taking my next dose (which is very soon) already.
Has anyone ever experienced this, especially at such a low dose?? Any advice?? Help!!
