I’ve made a form to try and cast a knife blank out of gilding brass. I’ve tried varying degrees of corn starch as a parting powder, but haven’t had any luck. It always turns out like this picture with lumpy inconsistent breaks. Any ideas?
Using Petrobond as the casting sand.
I am trying to make a small brushless RC propeller, however I am having trouble thickening the helix. If I try thickening a single helix, the edges do not contour to the cylinder and it bleeds through on the edges. If I try creating a second helix, I get an error when I try to loft the filled spline to the second helix. I'm sure there's an easier way, but I am still fairly new to this.
Is there a way to contour the edges of a single helix so they intersect perfectly with the cylinder? Or should I go about this a totally different way?
