Recs for progressive sunglasses for boating?

Hi! I'm looking for recommendations for prescription progressive sunglasses specifically for boating (and maybe a little bit of fishing, although not hardcore, and certainly not far offshore). I've done a lot of reading both here and elsewhere and it seems like Maui Jim and Costa are the common recommendations. I do have a few concerns though:

  • I would very much prefer glass lenses. Does anyone even make prescription glass other than Costa? On their websites, MJ, Bajios, and others only seem to offer polycarbonate.

  • It seems to be completely hit or miss with Costa's warranty. What's up with that? Did the people with luck pay the $39 or whatever for the protection program? Given that the cost with my prescription options is like $1k, this matters to me a lot.

  • Nearly all lens reviews that discuss water focus on fishing rather than just boating in general. In addition, the pictures almost always focus on crystal clear waters in Florida or the Bahamas. And, it's basically always sunny without a cloud in the sky. I boat in Barnegat Bay, NJ which is pretty shallow (~5-10ft on average) and for which you can't really see much of the bottom. I don't do much fishing, but would like to get into that (both in Barnegat Bay, and inshore a few miles out at most). And, although it's sunny in the summer, it's definitely not the Florida Keys. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on specific lens types/colors that might work best for that. For example, the Costa Green Mirror seem to get good reviews for in-shore and shallow water, but does that still apply for my scenario? Similar question for the HCL from Maui Jim which seems to also get good reviews for fishing.

  • On Costa, some of the frames don't let me choose the lens type I want. For example, I can get the Mainsail XL w/ Green Mirror glass, but I can't do the Paunch XL in the same one. If I go to SportRx, though, some are available that are not at Costa, while others are not or glass isn't available. What's up with that?

Any other thoughts or advice are appreciated!

I was on Facebook the other day and the algorithm fed me a post that I felt like I'd seen before. I came here, poked around, and sure enough it was copy/paste of a post here. I asked the OP if they had also posted it to that Facebook group and they confirmed that they had not. So, I went through a few of the posts on the group and every single one of them is a copy/paste of posts here. A few examples from the last three posts to the FB group:

Not sure that anything can be done about it, just wanted to let folks here know.

Last season here in NJ there was a pretty horrific accident involving someone falling off their boat without a kill switch. That put the fear of God into me, and I now wear the lanyard thing religiously once we're underway (it's kind of a PITA if you need to walk around). I recently learned that there are a few wireless systems where you buy a hub that gets installed in a fixed location and then have "beacons" folks wear and it can detect them going out of range if someone goes overboard to kill the engine. For example, Garmin offers one called "OnBoard".

Does anyone know if either that system or one like it has support for using a smartwatch (I have a Google Pixel 4) as the beacon, rather than having to buy a separate device? Nobody operates my boat except for me and it would be great if I could just use something I always have on.
