So, since the old Polling method on Reddit wasn't allowed anymore, some of you guys have asked me to do a Character grading Poll on a scale of 1-5 (5 being amazing and 1 being terrible) of Characters on Google Docs of your top 50 Highest Voted for Characters, so that's exactly what I'll do, be sure to share this with as many people as you possibly can who knows about the Pokémon Anime and please help me out by participating in this poll I'd gladly appreciate all your help, and yeah, let's do this (Note: If your Favourite Character isn't here, then I'm sorry, it's because they haven't made it into the Previous Top 100 Strawpoll I made not too long ago

Hey guys, so, since the original way of doing redditing polls isn't really gonna be allowed, this is a Pokémon Anime Characters Grading Poll to see which ones are your favourites from 50 different characters, so please share this with as many Pokémon Anime fans as you can and share it around, I really appreciate it, thank you so much

Look, I'm not someone who very often makes these kinds of posts cause I don't necessarily want to make them, and particularly if you don't like reading something that's long, you can just pass by and ignore this post, but, if there's any of you that are willing to read this and hear me out, then please do cause this is really important.

I wanna address and make things very clear from the start, I do not have any like/dislike/hate bias towards any particular fandom group, nor am I going to try to single out a particular fanbases, this is a more broader issue in general with the Pokémon fandom rather than simply just one group.

With that being said, there are some things in this community that is really messed up and needs to get called out

1: first things first, is the hate speech, now what do I mean by that? Just because someone dislikes or likes, or isn't really interested or into a particular series or character that you like, doesn't give you the right or need to attack them for it, it's their opinion and you should respect it as much as you can even if you may not necessarily agree with what they're saying, series, characters and even debates about shipping, should never get deep rooted dislike/misogny just because you like something else (Especially fanbases of big and popular characters or shippings)

2: Purposefully spreading Misinformation and Lies, now, this one is a little bit more difficult to crack down upon because, unless you're someone who has watched every single series from start to finish,this is something that's almost impossible to fix, and on top of that, Some people just don't want to be unbiased, because we are currently living in a world, where popularity, hate, agenda and narratives are what people and fanbases cling on to instead of properly judging Series, characters and shippings for what they actually are and properly analyzing them, and you basically get downvoted even if what you told them evidence wise from the series was 100% true because some people just prefer to stick to agenda's and narratives rather than the actual truth.

3: Fan Perception and Misguidance, This is a big problem I think any big community has, but it seems like it's EVEN louder with this one compared to a lot of others, what do I mean by this? Well, people here do seem to have a tendency that if they have ever had a bad experience or not a pleasant time with a few people from a certain fanbase, they immediately use it claim or evidence into saying that every single person in that particular fanbase acts and behaves that way and that's why they're all "Toxic", when in reality that could not be any further from the truth, cause the bad apples will always get more attention than the ones that are okay or cool, because bad or outrageous takes in general gets more clicks and attention than someone saying things for what they are without any biases, and also on top of this a certain fanbase from 2014-2019 or 2020 time (I think you know which shipping fanbase I'm talking about, cough, Amour), unfortunately get a huge labelling by a lot of people in this fandom for only being known as toxic individuals who you can't have a normal conversation with, when in reality that absolutely isn't the case, cause i have a lot of friends in my inner circle who are fans of all kinds of different characters and shippings, some of my best friends actually are Pokeshippers funnily enough, a group of bad apples from each side of the fandom doesn't make or doesn't mean that every single person from that fanbase is unbearable, and the reason why it becomes more loud these days and why people may think they're the most toxic, is cause we're in a social media world rn, where everything gets exposed to the max and public perception often deceives people, when in reality, Toxicity in the fandom existed FAR before XY and Amourshipping even came around, you guys think the modern day Amourshippers were bad? Take a look at history in the fandom and look at what it was like before social media, Pokeshipping Vs Palletshipping was a far worse toxic environment at that time that didn't get much exposure because there wasn't social media back then (I can confirm this because one of my friends who is a Pokeshipper was present during that time of the fandom), and last thing to mention about this, I've also seen people in this community use the fanbase's "toxicity" as a reason for why they like or hate/dislike certain characters, which i think is an absolutely stupid reason to hate on Characters, cause, you're not hating on the Characters for what they are, you're hating on their shippings and their fanbase which is a COMPLETELY seperate matter that should be separated from you on your judgements of Characters, and you also use shipping as a reason to degrade/misognize/disrespect certain characters when their characters are FAR greater in their purpose than simply just Shipping charracters (AKA Misty and Serena), the amount of times I have seen these characters get reduced by both fans of certain shippings and haters of other shippings to simply just be "an accessory" or "anime waifu", is crazy when that really only makes maybe 10% Max of theur character, but unfortunately certain people think thats all there is to their character, because not enough people are actually talking about THEIR character and what they did, and instead just focus on the shipping aspects, if you wanna like/dislike certain characters, at least give reasons that are based on their characteristics and what they do, and not because of perception of a fanbase or shipping, i would never let my experiences with certain fans or fanbases dictate how i judge characters)

4: The fourth and final topic here I wanted to adresss, is the double standards of this fandom, I have seen it far too often when it comes to debates about different Series, Characters and Shippings, that what they use as praise for one particular thing, is exactly what they'll also use to disrespect or disregard another particular thing as well, (Just to use as an example, I had a convo with someone, and he gave the excuse and reasoning on why the companions after XY didn't necessarily have too much to impact on the story of Ash or even necessarily get too much focus on themselves was because the format of the series changed and that Ash was no longer the 100% focus and no longer did gym battles, and I then gave the reason to him that why i think Serena herself and also her rivals didn't get as interactions or development into their bonds and relationships, was maybe due to the fact XY had around 50-60 episodes and a whole season LESS than any of the other series Before BW, yet he didn't want to hear it at all, basically being like, excuses can be made about the other companions, but not Serena, and he also said he believes comedy and chemistry with the group shouldn't really be the definitive factor on why he thinks Certain Characters are better than others, then he proceeds to use it as the exact reason why he had Brock above Dawn, May and Serena, like, at least be consistent with your judgment), they'd rather stick to their own biases and agenda's about specific Series' and characters instead of thinking and analysing "Why do these characters do what they do, and why do they behave in that certain way?", instead, they just immediately jump to conclusions and ignore all sense of logic and actual analysis, because a lot of these people here are MEDIA ILLITERATE AF or basically don't necessarily have a lot of friends or a Girlfriend (sorry if I offend anyone on that)

So yeah, that was my rant
