I’m seeking advice from those who have already gone through the J-1 waiver process this year.

I’m planning to sign my contract in May, and my attorney mentioned that they will likely begin filing in October. They estimate the process may take around 6 months, and advised starting as early as possible due to an increased number of cases and potential delays this year.

For those with experience, what should I take into consideration to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible? Are there any common pitfalls or important steps I should be aware of in advance?

Also, as an applicant from a non-restricted country, I would appreciate insights on which pathway may be more favorable: Conrad 30 or NBRS.
