Hi everyone! I am from S Korea and I just finished a 1 year study abroad in the US as a biomedical engineering major. I really enjoyed my experience, and while I am obviously happy to be going home to see my family there are a lot of things I will miss about being here.

I really enjoyed my educational experience here! I got to work in a lab for a year doing research and felt that I was given a lot more freedom in my work compared to what I would have gotten back home. While classroom work was challenging it was also not at all competitive among students compared to what I’m used to. It was an attitude of we’re all suffering together haha.

Dating and sex culture here is definitely something I will miss a lot. I appreciate that beauty standards here are so diverse and I didn’t feel pressure to always have to look a certain way. And even though I feel I’m just average, I got so much attention from guys that it made me feel special and attractive. Casual sex culture isn’t really a thing back home, and I got to explore that side of myself (and get a little wild haha) and I think I’m truly going to miss that the most!

I would love to chat about my experiences, especially with other people who have studied abroad or shared similar experiences!
