Can I trim an Oregon Grape into a topiary?

I have a vision, a dream! Could I successfully trim an Oregon Grape to have a kind of Japanese Maple shape? I have a pretty small one right now, so I have time to kind of guide it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or with heavily pruning?

Thank you!

Lord give me the strength to endure Mother's Day with my MIL

She moved into a new place and we agreed to go visit to check it out for the weekend. She revealed to us tonight that she would greatly appreciate if we could help with some small move in tasks (assembling furniture and mounting a tv, potentially moving things up 3 flights of stairs!!!)

Hottest thing my husband has ever done is immediately reply that he wasn't going to make his 30 weeks pregnant wife help with anything NOR would he be leaving me alone with our toddler on Mother's Day lmao.

Pray for me.

ETA: She is very wealthy and would be totally fine hiring people to do these things. My husband would be happy to help but not while I'm EXTREMELY pregnant in a new non childproofed place with a 2 year old!!!!
