Dummy questions?

Hello! I’m super new to drinking kombucha. I just bought some because it was on sale and I am trying to purchase food that comes in containers that I can reuse and I thought I’d give it a shot and I’m really enjoying it.

This morning, I added some strong sweet tea to my glass of kombucha because I’m only doing 4 ounces of kombucha and I had the tea and was excited about it. I am really really enjoying it better than either beverage on their own.

I have a disability that affects my ability to pour drinks. I often have other people pour them for me and they sit in the fridge. This has led me down multiple lines of questioning as far as adding sweet liquid to my kombucha and leaving it in the fridge.

- Safety of doing this for a day or two at a meal prep level?

-this led me down a rabbit hole of second fermentation stuff and I am interested, but I am not at the level of brewing my own kombucha nor do I really have the opportunity to explore that right now. (I am guessing that I would be able to fine tune that in a way that I would really enjoy) I’m a little bit confused, could anyone help me understand? Is it really as simple as adding sugary tea to my kombucha and leaving it for a few days?

If I want mine to have residual sugar for me after the microbes eat it is that a matter of simply adding extra sugar or like will that make the wrong or too much stuff grow?
