my husband 32m says I’m not allowed to talk to the neighbours 26f
Yesterday I was just outside walking with our daughter and our neighbours dog was outside and my daughter got really excited so I walked a bit closer to let her see. He came home at the same time and saw me; I was literally still on our property, they were six feet away. He was angry and told me I don’t listen and that I’m not allowed to talk to the neighbors on our street. he’s said he’s in charge of the safety and I’m not allowed to make that assessment, which is ridiculous because I’m a sahm and I do literally everything.
They’re all really old people and it’ll happen even if it’s random, like I’m not intentionally picking up conversations — sometimes they’ll be strolling by while I’m outside with my daughter and we give a quick hello and he gets mad. He told me I’m “trying to be my own person”
This is not the first time he gets angry for me talking to the neighbours. I just don’t understand, it seems a bit extreme when he can talk to them all he wants. The other day he literally went in our neighbours house to grab something. I’m so upset. We live far, I haven’t seen friends or family since I moved here and I can’t even talk to the neighbours. I tried getting a job and he told me I can have a remote job or government benefits those are my options. I told him he’s an ass hole and too controlling and he disagrees.
