[QLD] Personal injury claim should I change lawyers or stay?
I’ve had a personal injury claim going for about 2 years and feel like it’s moved really slowly. I’m a single mom early 20’s
My lawyer hasn’t been very proactive. I’ve had to follow up myself and explain how much I’m struggling physically and mentally just to get things moving. I also have surgery coming up within the next month that I can barely afford.
Initially, my lawyer seemed set on waiting until after surgery to settle, but I had to push back and explain that I won’t be able to afford to live during recovery. Now it feels like things are being rushed in the opposite direction.
I’m worried the claim isn’t being pushed properly or valued correctly, and I’m not sure if options like interim payments have even been explored.
At this stage, is it worth changing lawyers, or is it too late in the process? Has anyone done this and had a better outcome?
Just looking for general advice/experiences.
