Sometimes when I boot up my Win XP pc everything starts correctly and all is fine.

However, recently I notice that when I boot the pc there is some sort of error and there is a dos-like error. If I ignore this and continue the boot the pc starts but the dvd drive is not mapped to any drive letter and I can't see how to map it. If I leave and then come back a little later and boot up again, everything boots up fine.

Whats going on ???

Why it is initially failing the boot and how can I fix it ?
