I Wrote a Novel Inspired by RWBY

Hey, I wanted to share this with you! It's my novel inspired by RWBY!

I've always been a fan of the magical girl genre, and I wanted to try writing some of my own. So I set out on a quest to combine RWBY and the Winx Club. I missed by a mile and ended up with Yu-Gi-Oh / Blue Lock / Austin Powers instead, ha!

I'm doing a Marvel thing where each girl will get their own book, and Saorise is my Yang :D

She is a sports star trapped by a death pact. She can only escape if she goes pro! When she throws a match, her only way is to go up in smoke. Now, in order to escape the ticking clock on her life, she has to dance her way through a whacky adventure at an Irish step dance burlesque cabaret! The only catch, the only way she can win is if she's found guilty of crimes she didn't commit!

I think it'll brighten your day.

I am homeless and on the verge of starvation, and I am convinced I have a new van conversion headed my way! I am excited for it. It's got a full build-out, a kitchen, a bed that can be put away, plenty of storage space, and Starlink! It's awesome!

Hard to Win - Fantasy Sports Anime - Available on Kindle Unlimited

Saoirse Storm is a sports star trapped in a death pact, the only way out: go pro. When she throws a game that makes turning pro impossible, she'll have to save her county by going on a wacky adventure to a burlesque dance club to restore her team's magic.

Dance. Sports. Death.
At 18, Saoirse is an exceptional hurler (a cross between lacrosse and field hockey), competing on the semi-professional women’s (camogie) team and trying to go pro with her favorite team in the whole wide world, the County Tyrconnell Hurling Club.
Tryouts are in a few weeks, but she won’t be able to make it. A death pact binds her to participate in her religion’s sacred rite; there’s only one way out for good: turn pro.
With only eight days before the death pact triggers, Saoirse, desperate to escape the rite and participate in tryouts, throws the last match of the season to buy herself time. But her throw puts her under investigation and, worse, causes her only chance at the pros—the County Tyrconnell Hurling Club—to fold.
Yet the tiniest hint of luck is on her side: a loophole in the law states that if she is found guilty of crimes she didn’t commit, the pro team will get a shot at a redemption match. Only, they’re the worst team in all Éire. They can’t use their magic, and the secret to fixing it lies in the halls of an Éirish step-dance burlesque cabaret.
Her county can’t possibly survive without the team’s magic, a magical new player, or both. They need a player with skills. They need a player who cares enough to help. They need a player like the one about to be sentenced to life in a dungeon. A player like—
Saoirse Storm.

OG Post: https://www.reddit.com/r/KillLaKill/comments/1r16qp7/this_show_saved_my_life/

TLDR: Thank you. This book is spiritually similar to Kill La Kill, which taught me how to thread wacky fun with pure heart and sexy themes.

Thank you for all the kind words and well wishes you left on my previous post; it meant a lot to me. I had to come back and let all of you know the novel is now available as an ebook on Amazon! It's free for Kinlde Unlimited subscribers ^^

It was a long and hard road to get here. I wrote twenty novels, none of them published, before I finally managed to write Hard to Win! I'm still starving to death in my van, but I feel enormously accomplished—Woot woot!—and it's all thanks to Kill La Kill.

A quick bit about the book: Saoirse Storm is my Ryuko Matoi. Saoirse is an eighteen-year-old sports star trapped in a death pact, and the only way out is to turn pro. When she is forced to throw a match, her only way to turn pro goes up in smoke, and she's sent on a wacky adventure through an Irish step-dance (riverdance) burlesque cabaret! The catch? To save them all, she'll have to be found guilty of crimes she didn't commit.

It's got shades of Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, and Bluelock.

Thank you again. If you give the book a chance, I hope it brightens your day.
