Is this the right decision for Aston Martin?
Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack has refused to put a timeline on major AMR26 upgrades after Fernando Alonso admitted the team is prioritising long-term gains over small improvements.
Alonso said:
“The team explained to me that if we bring one or two tenths every race, it doesn’t change our position, we are P20 or P19, and the next car is one second in front. So, even if we bring two tenths every race, it doesn’t change our position and it’s a huge stress in the system, in the budget cap and things like that. Until we have one second and a half or two second improvements, it’s better not to press the button in production because we waste money.”
Is this the right thing for Aston Martin to be doing?

Should drivers have more say in the rules?
Lando Norris believes Formula 1 drivers should have a stronger voice in shaping the sport’s future regulations, but admits the commercial realities of the championship make change difficult.
Norris said:
“It can just be done in a slightly different way, and that’s something that us drivers we’re all wishing for in the future. But because of the bigger picture, because you have manufacturers and partners and teams and it’s a business involved, then some things are not so simple.”
In our latest blog we discuss the comments made by Norris and the comments made by Hamilton on the drivers having more say in the ruling of F1

Miami marked Hadjar’s toughest Formula 1 weekend so far. Poor pace, a qualifying disqualification and a race-ending crash combined to create a difficult few days for the young Frenchman. Still, Red Bull insists there is no reason to panic.
“I don’t think we should qualify that as a worry,” Mekies said about Hadjar’s crash. “We had a tough weekend. This has not helped our performance. In terms of driving and in terms of rhythm, he still didn’t get into the right rhythm.”
