Would switching from Victrola Stream Carbon to Pro-Ject T1/2 Turntable fix the issues we're having with playing vinyl via Sonos?

Apologies in advance, this is very much an "Explain like I'm 5" scenario, because I don't have much experience here.

I own the Victrola Carbon Stream turntable, connected (via wifi) to our Sonos system. I purchased it because I wanted to be able to play our records to any of our Sonos speakers (not just listen to vinyl in one specific room.) When it works, I love it.

Unfortunately, we have soooooooo many issues.

  • It will "claim" it's playing to four speakers, but there's no sound coming out of two of them. (Checked the volume, even restarted those speakers, de-selected and re-selected them, etc.)
  • It won't find all our speakers in the Victrola app.
  • It will suddenly just stop playing.

We have tried things like, connecting via ethernet cable (didn't help/change anything), and changing settings in the app(s; both Victrola app and Sonos app) based on other posts/complaints.

Basically I'm at the point where I just have to fully "hard reset" and reconnect the Victrola player at least once a week. It typically works reasonable well once I do that, but the whole setup just seems sooooo finicky, in general, and you're basically just crossing your fingers each time you go to play a record, as to whether it will work today or not...

Would I be better to "give up" on this turntable, and purchase one of the Pro-ject T1/T2 available on the Sonos site, instead?

My only requirement is being able to play vinyl to any speaker in the house (including multiple or speaker groups.) I'm open to buying The Things to make that happen...!

Would switching to the Pro-ject turntable help?

What things do I need to purchase...? Is it just the turntable? Or do I need an "amp" as well? Basically... how would I make this setup work?(For real, please explain like I'm five 😄 I truly know nothing about speaker system/setups.)

My understanding, from research before I bought the Victrola, is that the Pro-ject has to be connected, via cable, to a 100. (This is fine; I have a 100 right next to it, actually.) But then, could play to any speaker in the house? (I think...?)

I am (clearly) not some picky audio person. I just wanna play my records ... 😄 And I'm always moving around different areas of my house, so I just want to play them to my rooms!

I'd welcome any thoughts or advice! Thank you
