Furnace smells?

I have my thermostat low while people are gone during the day. When it kicks on the bring the temperature up the air smells similar to a space heater for a bit. The smell does not return when the furnace kicks on and off the remainder of the day while maintaining the warmer temperature.

I just replaced the filter thinking that could be part of the issue but it still smells. Any ideas? is this something I need a technician to come look at?

I need a watch. I'm not someone who would ever spend the money on a rolex and I don't really rub shoulders with anyone who would. I think the gmt is a super cool watch. My question is this: Is there a difference between the MT gmt for $100 and a different one from DH that's around the $60 mark? Mostly I want it to tell time
