There’s this guy I’ve been talking to for more than a week now. I couldn’t vc with him right away because I wanted to check first what he’s like and I’m also trying to be cautious myself. We did exchanged photos and now that we want to meet each other in person, I finally suggested to at least have a vc first. He refused and said, he’s not comfy and he’d rather meet in person instead. I am not pushing through with the meetup anymore since I can’t know for sure if he really is the person in his photos. He tried calling (voice call) but I didn’t answer since everything just feels like a major red flag for me.
I am curious if this is something prevalent here and if I should just ask for a video call right away next time?
Has anyone here experienced being catfished on Reddit or suspected it? I’m curious how it started for you, what signs gave it away, and how did you guys handle the situation?
