Decided to move my sundew

I decided to move my sundew to my grow light that I use for my VFTs because I was told it wasn’t getting enough light on my windowsill (thank you to whoever commented that!!!)

Are there going to be any negative side effects while the plant gets used to the new amount of light?

My Sundew is thriving

She’s eating the ant I gave her and I’m so proud of her!!!!! The moss that it’s in seems to be thriving too haha

Her first big meal!! 🐜

Found a large ant outside so I fed it to my cape sundew. It’s been a few hours and the leaf is curling around it. Hopefully she enjoys it! (There is also a fungus gnat that was eaten a few days ago lol)

Accidental VFT baby

So I was trying to get rid of dead traps with a tweezer and accidentally took out a separate baby plant that I didn’t know was there… so now I have two flytraps! I hope my new setup doesn’t get too crowded too fast because I also just ordered some albino cape sundew seeds…

the carnivorous plant special interest has a chokehold on me

Repotted my VFT and bought a grow light for it!

Hi! A few weeks ago I bought this Venus Flytrap from a store and kept it on a sunny windowsill for a while. Recently I realized that the glass vase it was in (picture 4) wasn’t a particularly good place for it, so a few days ago I repotted it with a mix of sphagnum moss and perlite.

Yesterday my Mosthink grow light came in the mail so I set it up under that. (I set the timer for 12h a day) It’s been growing some new traps and I’m pretty happy with the setup! I’m looking forward to taking care of this little guy :D

(If anyone’s curious, one of the traps contains a dead cricket I found in my basement lmao)

A week ago my cat chewed on the leaves and knocked this over. But it’s recovering nicely! Can I cut off the branches (idk if that’s the correct term) that the chewed leaves died off on? They don’t look very nice, but I don’t mind if I can’t cut them off. Or can I at least cut off the dry tips so new leaves can grow from them if possible?

(Sorry for poor camera quality)

This is my fourth post here about my poor sundew plant. After my brother purchased it and not knowing the soil has to be constantly wet, he gave it to me. I took care of it for a few days, and then my cat chewed on it and knocked it over. The chewed up leaves shriveled up and turned brown so I just figured I’d cut them off. I was really scared that it wouldn’t recover, but after lots of sunlight on a bright windowsill (I briefly moved it to take the pictures), the new leaves are producing dew!!

Also, someone on TikTok pointed out that it looks like it’s been planted in regular potting soil which is not good for it, so when the plant is recovered and less stressed, I might repot it in sphagnum moss.

So this is my third post here about my sundew plant. To summarize, my brother bought this while on vacation, forgot to water it for a week, and gave it to me. I’ve been keeping it on a windowsill in a tray of distilled water for about three days, but today while I was out, my cat chewed on the leaves and knocked it onto the floor. It fell out of the pot and I put it back in as best I can. Now the leaves are crumpled and barely attached. Is this still saveable?

This is my second post here about my sundew plant I started taking care of a few days ago. I moved it to a bright windowsill and am keeping distilled water in the tray, and keeping the soil moist. The leaves are still dry and full of lint, but I think new leaves will start to form with dew on them in a few weeks. I live in Maine, so there will be plenty of flies and mosquitoes for it to eat in the summer!
