So I just got passed up on a promotion at my job from a dui I got almost 5 years ago. They said they need 5 years from the DUI to be able to promote me. They’re willing to wait if I’m eligible on the date I got arrested from my dui but not if it’s the conviction date as it’s too far out. My question is, do employers use the arrest date or conviction date as the start time for the 5 year gap?
