I have a 2013 Prius c with 360,000 miles on it. Recently I started getting the death rattle and before I go and replace the head gasket I was going to clean the EGR valve because I've actually never done it, and may solve my problem without actually replacing the head gasket. I also do not currently have any check engine lights.
The very first hose I removed had coolant shooting out of it and I do not believe that is normal. I have not yet had any luck finding a video of someone removing one so I could see if this is accurate but all descriptions I have seen does not mention cleaning up any coolant. Picture is of hose that had coolant shooting out of it.
I have checked my oil and it does not appear to have any coolant mixed in with it I have also opened the radiator and have not seen any signs of oil getting inside of there.
