A Female Doctor Hurt Me During a Medical Exam When I Was 7 -- My Own Parents Didn't Care

I recently remembered something from when I was 7 that bothers me.

I went to the doctor for a checkup of my penis. I was a child, scared, and had no real say in what happened. Without giving me any option or even asking if I was comfortable, they assigned me a female doctor.

During the exam, she handled me extremely harshly. I'll spare you the details, but you can imagine what a harsh checkup of that area can entail.

I yelled because it hurt, and I even grabbed her arm reflexively. Her response was, “Be quiet. I know it doesn’t hurt.”

How would she know that? She was not the one feeling it. She doesn't even have that body part!

I was in considerable physical pain for the rest of the day. However, when I told my parents about the malpractice, they simply told me to push through it.

If the genders had been reversed, there would've been outrage! But because I'm a male, nobody, not even my own parents, gave a shit.

I’m confused about the Chirayu Rana / Lorna Hajdini case.

From what I’ve read, Rana originally filed under “John Doe,” but now his name is being reported everywhere. Isn’t anonymity typically provided for the alleged victim in sexual assault or harassment cases?

Regardless of your opinion on the verity of the case, this seems a bit odd and frankly unfair given that anonymity is often, if not always, provided to female accusers.
