Car Dent in Passenger side Door

Unfortunately I damaged my car's back door in a pillar of a garage. I do not have funds to repair it now and I am ok with the visual pollution. But I am worried about rusting.
Can someone guide me what is my best option. My present insurance does not covers the cost
