Bad breath 😷
I’ve been struggling with persistent bad breath and I’m not sure why. I brush my teeth daily, sometimes up to three times a day, and use mouthwash regularly. I also try to floss every night, or in the morning if I miss it at night. I usually use floss picks and gently use the pointed end around my molars to remove buildup near the gums. I also brush and scrape my tongue regularly.
I do smoke weed, usually after work about 2–3 times a day. Occasionally I’ll smoke a few puffs at lunch or before the gym, but I always brush my teeth and use mouthwash afterward. I also take Adderall, which I know can cause dry mouth.
Despite all of this, my breath still seems to smell bad — sometimes sulfur-like or sour — and I notice people reacting when I speak. Some days are worse than others, and I haven’t been able to figure out what specifically triggers it.
I also deal with acid reflux at times, especially when I eat dinner late, and that can leave a sour taste and odor in my mouth. I mainly use Marvis toothpaste, Euthymol toothpaste, and the CVS version of TheraBreath mouthwash because other toothpastes make my mouth still feel dirty afterward.
After paying attention to it for a while, I feel like dry mouth may be the main issue, but I already drink mostly water throughout the day. I’m not sure what else to try and would appreciate any advice or insight.
