Hey guys! I'm looking to pick up tennis as a new hobby and honestly have never touched a racket in my life. I did play football when I was younger therefore would like to think I have kinda some athletic background, but I understand that tennis is a completely different activity. Would love to get some advice from anyone who's been in the same boat or have insigths:

1. How long would it take to become decent or semi-decent as a complete beginner? Curious on what does the learning curve typically looks like
2. How much does it cost to hire a tennis coach in the Philippines? Are there group lessons that might be more affordable than one-on-one sessions? (hoping this is in south area)
3. Where can I play in the south? I'm based in Parañaque - are there public or pay-per-hour courts nearby? (tried calling club united paranaque; they are very unresponsive)
4. What equipment do I need to start out, and how much should I budget for a beginner racket? Are there any suggested brands; hoping for cheap ones for the meantime
5. Should I take lessons first before just hitting on my own, or is it okay to self-practice using YouTube tutorials in the meantime?
6. Are there any beginner-friendly tennis communities or groups in south (Alabang, Paranaque, Makati) where I can find hitting partners at a similar level?
