care and ID for the lady?

hello cacti folk, while i am an avid lover of plants who require a lot of attention, i know that cacti love to be ignored for very long periods of time. i bought this little lady at a plant market yesterday, and the label reads “Lady Jane” but it seems i cant find any cacti online that are actually called this, so i dont know what proper care is. how long to wait before my first watering? do i need to think about repotting any time soon? is there a way to make sure the flowers bloom? is a grow light over this enough or do i need it outside? im in (i think) zone 8b. any and all advice is welcome! thank you!

a year ago i rescued a mystery orchid from a moving friend. in that year the original plant had major rot and lost all of its roots. after many months of growing the bulbs in sphag n bag methods this one had 5 roots about 7-12cm in length. i decided to pot it up to give more direct sun, since the leaves had stopped growing. a month and a half ago i put it in orchid bark with a top layer of moss to keep it slightly more moist, but i have seen zero difference so far since then. am i doing something wrong? i regularly water it, ive checked on the roots once or twice and they seem nice and green and plump. is something missing? should i just be patient? should i fertilize more or not at all? any help is appreciated!

last fall i bought this dendrobium nobile with white flowers. as it got cold all the flowers fell off as expected and many leaves dropped, but after winter i started fertilizing again and we got a ton of healthy new growth which im happy about. suddenly im watering it today, and i see this big bud looking blob forming on one of the spikes. ive never seen anything like it, and i for the life of me cant find anything about it online??? please tell me what this is? what is this called? is this good or bad? lmk!
