I had extra old mk3 chest arms and heads so I took some donor mk2 kits to make a prototype with a combi flamer. I dont hate it but im always my worst critic. The idea is that after istvaan some salamanders upgraded their mk2 armor around the core areas like head and chest while keeping mk2 legs and power packs for slightly more mobility
Ive had a crazy hard time finding combi flames for adherents but these bits are relatively available online and mark 7 seems just barely outside hh, i could probably get a little extra fluff grace with salamanders forging/crafting their own gear. It would explain why they look different than the mk4 combis
Ultimately nobody near me cares so I can do whatever I want. But I care and I like putting the extra thought and care into this army. Still want everyone's opinion

I tried to get a land raider door for this but it was one of the ones that dont fit the Proteus so I improvised. Does the shield in the middle work? I imagine using hammer transfer sheets to really deck it out once its painted but I wanna make sure it doesnt look dumb before gluing it down like "oh thats a land raider...but why do you have a combat shield on the front?"
I hope the salamanders aesthetic can show through
