I'm just about a week into my fissure journey and things are looking way way better today. No blood, no constipation, and almost no pain.

The issue is I overdid the miralax and now I have diarrhea, which while being better than a hard poop is still not ideal obviously because it still irritates the wounded area.

Yesterday I took about half a cap of the stuff. So half the recommended dose was too much for me. Today I will cut back by about 10% and see what happens. I will slowly taper off until my poop is ok and then stay on the dose pretty much forever, I'm done dealing with fissures.

What dose to you use and when do you usually take it? At the moment I'm at around 40% of the cap and take it after lunch.

Another question, how long have u been taking the dose? Any long term daily users? Would love to hear from you.

Goodluck with your recovery everyone!

Hey fellas. Had a horrific anal fissure about 8 years ago and my ass has never been the same ever since.

Unfortunately, about 5 days ago I had a hard poop, I had to push... and boom, here I am back in hell. Feeling like a total idiot... why didn't I just stay on the miralax??

Anyways... I've been here before and I'm doing all the right things. polyethylene glycol for stool softener (Taking half a cap a day). Hydrating like crazy, watching my diet, yoga exercises, etc, etc....

My question is this, and I'm wondering if others have experienced this as well: Yesterday I had a BM with no visible blood, but it was a bit painful. Afterwards I was in horrible pain that lasted for hours, basically the majority of the day. I learned that that was an anal spasm. Today however, I got the toilet, it's a tiny bit painful, but lots of visible blood BUT no horrible pain that lasts for hours. What just happened? Why am I now seeing blood again, but the pain is noticeably less.

Best of luck to you fellas, this is such an epic drain on our mental health, this horrible thing really does take control over your life! I just want to eat something in peace without thinking of how it's gonna come out the other end! Anyways, best to calm down, that only makes things worse, but I'm sure you can relate to how frustrating it is to be back in square one.
