Getting back into photography - Canon R6ii vs Nikon Z5ii
Hi everyone, first time posting here. I originally got into photography back in 2011, and I’ve used different brands. No specific kind of photos, a mix of travel, landscapes, some wildlife when I could. I kind of feel out of love with things during the pandemic, as I was working a lot, couldn’t get out as much (especially abroad) and gear started getting ever more expensive. But I’m looking to try to get back into it, given how much I used to enjoy it.
I’m based in the UK, and my budget gives me a could have options for roughly £1500 for a body (a little bit more might be justifiable), plus a non-pro lens or two.
I can get a Z5ii for £1499 with maybe a 35mm 1.4 and another lens (maybe a mid-range zoom). Alternatively, there’s a deal on Canon R6ii for £1699, where I could get either a 28-70 f2.8, or a 45mm f1.2+other lens. I’m struggling to choose. I have thought about a r8 or a Sony a7iii, but the former has tiny batteries and the latter is getting on a bit in years. I have considered APSC and m43, but not convinced, as a bit of an edge in lowlight is good.
What do you all think? I know it’s super subjective, but views and experiences all welcome and very much appreciated.
