Hi all. I am just learning Go. Been interesting. I don't have anyone in person to play with. I found Just Go on Steam and have been playing it. Seems nice but doesn't really break down scoring so I am a bit confused by my latest game. Can someone correct my scoring?
Based on my very newbie understanding here is the score I came up with:
Japanese Scoring. 5.5 komi
White (Me): 20 Area points - 6 captures = 14pts + 5.5 komi = 19.5 pts
Black (cpu): 10 Area points - 4 captures = 6 pts.
So the difference should be 13.5 points. Why does game say I won by 10.5? Is it because we have more moves left? Is it estimating what the last plays would be? I have seen some talking online about estimating points on a game to determine a winner before it is over. Is that is what is happening here?
