Recs for gaming laptop (specfically laptop not pc setup) that's good with mods

I'm getting a new laptop as a gift, because mine is starting to have issues, and I was told to pick one. I was hoping to get one that's good with gaming and mods (I play a lot heavily modded sdv, sims, and baulder's gate) and my old laptop struggled with mods. However I'm also a college student, so it still needs to be good with normal document programs and search engines. He's willing to cover $500, and the rest is on me, so if there is anything good that's less than like $800ish that would be nice, but if not I get it.

Thanks in advance.

Good and affordable place to get laptop repaired

My laptops driver has completely given out and I need to get it repaired ASAP. I'm not very tech savvy so I don't trust myself to do it myself and I'm also a college student so I only have so much money and also I need it done quickly (obviously as quickly as reasonably possible I know that these things can take time). Are there any good places in town that are affordable and also like reputable? Again I'm a college student so it's not like I have a bunch of money, and I don't even have the money to just fully get a new laptop so I can only really afford to get a repaired. Also just because I feel like this might be important I am a girl so I don't want it to be a place where I feel like I'd be taken advantage of. Not that I think they're any places in town that would but that is just something I've experienced when it comes to these types of things in other places I've lived.

My laptops been crashing then I got this

For about the past week my laptop has been randomly giving me a screen that says it's run into a problem and has to restart with a 0% and then shutting off and turning right back on. I've tried just restarting it I've run a diagnostics test on my graphics and it was still doing it. Then I updated a couple things and it was fine for most of today then suddenly it didn't like four times in a row. Then when it restarted the last time I got that screen what am I supposed to do do I just need to get a new laptop like I don't know what's going on??

It's also probably really important to say I'm not the most tech savvy person ever and I don't know if this would make any difference but I do play some games on my laptop that have mods but I don't know if that would matter it is a Windows 11 laptop I don't know much more than that though.

EDIT: I did all the system diagnostic tests and all of them were passed except for the storage test which said I had no hard drive. Also my laptop is 3 years old which I don't think is that long but I don't know how long that really is in terms of like computer longevity so I don't know if I would be better off just getting a new one.
