Hi there,

I'm a CF and work with bilingual (spanish/english) students. I am working on a report for one of my students and I am torn on whether or not I should qualify them, as I would have to report out using my clinical opinion/qualitative analysis as his scores kind of present as a language difference not a language impairment.

For example, his CELF-4 Spanish scaled scores for core language are 2, 8, 8, and 13. 2 is for the concepts/following directions which is pretty low.

His CELF-5 English scaled scores for core language are 5, 1, 1, 2.

Converting his scores he received an 86 for Spanish and a 53 for English.

I didn't learn much about auditory processing or working memory but that's where his breakdown in the subtests are consistent with. I'm unsure if it's truly a language thing or a processing thing. Please let me know your thoughts?
