Drunk Supervisor

I work at an outdoorsy lodge that is open 7 months out of the year. Last year was great and so I decided to come back. It’s a small business with the owners running it with their adult children and about a dozen employees. This is not a big company by and standards. I work in the kitchen, housekeeping, and office. My manager is housekeeping is where the issues have started. Last week myself and a coworker were having a rough day. We both had things happening personally on top of a big day with lots of time consuming messes. We spoke up throughout about this and we were never given help. At the end of the day the supervisor went to check rooms. She did find 3 mistakes in owning up to that. We forgot to replenish the amenities (shampoos, etc.) in two rooms and forgot to put a new trash bag in the can(it was empty just needed a new bag). She also thought she found an out light bulb. She just needed to flip the switch and pull the string on the fan. There was also a mysterious dirt pile in the shape of her flip flop right after I vacuumed and I had to go back to get that. She came in yelling and cussing up out saying things like “what the f**** is y’all’s problem today” “this is f***ing embarrassing” “I can’t believe you can screw up like this”. Normally I would be standing up for us but my depression has been so bad I could do nothing but cry. My coworker did speak up but then was yelled at until she cried. Anyways the supervisor went to our bosses first and she spoke with them about it. According to her she told them everything she said and they said we needed to “suck it up, we’re adults and should do our job right the first time”. I get that I do but I also know she told them what she wanted. She told them anything to make her look better and us worse.

In the past this supervisor has claimed to be an alcoholic. I’m bringing this up because the blowup on us was completely unnecessary and out of character. She’s the type of lady that you are cordial with but you can tell you don’t actually want to get to know them. I’ve also sat here and thought back on times and wonder now if the alcohol really is a problem. Since the blowup she has been very different and smells of alcohol terribly. I have caught a glimpse of a 4 loco in her car during work hours and she is constantly going off on her own to “double check us”. She has been angry and rude since then. She apologized a few days later but ended up berating and yelling at us during the apology. A time I look back on is last year she almost hit a deer and flipped I picked her up from the hospital because we live close by. I also offered to get her stuff out of her car. Guess what I found…. Alcohol unopened and open in the front and trunk of the car.

Now I know I smell it on her breath and I see the aggressive behavior. I don’t know if she’s always drunk or drinking or maybe sometimes it’s a hangover. Anyways I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to tell to be petty I want to tell to keep everyone safe. Who do I tell, how? Do I bite the bullet and just one day be like “damn girl what have you been drinking?” So she knows I know. What do I do? I can’t deal with the tip toeing around her. I can NOT deal with the fact that I know she’s drinking and driving. What if she kills someone and I didn’t say anything.
Also I know people will say find a new job. I wish I could. I’m in a jobless desert area. I’m trying to stick it out until the end of the season. Please help I’m so lost and with everything else in life I’m really struggling. Please ask questions but also please stay respectful I’m here vulnerably and really do not need internet bullys to make my life worse.

*ADDED DETAILS- For those who are confused, I like this job it’s close to home and I am paid above minimum wage. I get the hours I want. My problems are with a single person and how they have been treating everyone. I could get another job but it will be a much longer drive for the same job, less hours, and less pay. I could also drive over an hour for other job opportunities but that’s not a reasonable drive time compared to the pay.
