Trying to replicate the MIT EECS grind in my dorm, what actually makes you guys so cracked?

Hey, incoming CS/Math freshman at a T40 here. you guys are pretty legendarily intense and I mean that genuinely.

Trying to build that kind of environment in my dorm with my roommate. How do we actually do it? How many hours a day are you grinding? what's the split between coursework, side projects, and just going deep on something for fun? What does the day to day actually look like?

Basically trying to steal the MIT EECS work ethic from 1000 miles away. What makes you guys you? I

I know some would say "just do what you like" yes I will do that but what's the intensity? any specific culture or norm that makes u guys you?

how can I take uwaterloo's learning/working environment and put it into my dorm?

yea you guys a pretty cracked. very very.

now, what exactly makes u guys cracked? what's the work ethic like? what are the topics talked about?

an incoming US public top 40 freshman here. we got some goals. but, since its a "top 40," maybe not the ideal fertile ground. hence, I have decided to work like a uwaterloo cs + math major - fake it till you make!

how exactly do I it? how much are we working cs peeps? 3-5 hours daily? what portion is spent on learning? building? my roomie's like me as well - quite ambitious I'd say.

please share anything that makes uwaterloo's cs majors this cracked.
