Anti Anti-Mormon Take on the Book of Abraham HELP
For my personal background, I am a recent PIMO who became very comfortable with the idea that the Book of Abraham was faked. However, I recently came across an interesting post by Anti Anti-Mormon, a pro-LDS webpage, dated May 7th of this year. What I'm hoping for is someone much more adept than me in these things to read the article and present the facts/issues with it.
I'm going to butcher the author's argument, but as a summary: the take is that the Ptolemaic Egyptian writings can be multi-layered in their interpretation. In other words, a word is not just a word, but can have multiple meanings depending on context. The author used AI to sort through these multiple layers and allegedly came up with the same story of Abraham, and that the fascimiles correspond with the narrative of the Book of Abraham about Gods and such.
My initial reservation is that they used Josephs Kirtland Egyptian Papers as a way of "unlocking" the secret meaning of the text, which feels like circular reasoning. But I want to remain open minded and not shut it down based on my limited understanding of languages and AI.
