Hey everyone,

I’m planning a major upgrade for later this year (targeting October). I’m a Software Engineering student, so I need a machine that handles heavy multitasking (Docker, MySQL, large compilations) while crushing 1440p gaming at high refresh rates.

I live in Brazil, so I’ll be sourcing some parts locally for the warranty (CPU/GPU) and crossing the border to Paraguay for others to save around $200-$300 on tax-heavy items.

The "All-Black" Setup:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (Buying locally in BR for warranty)
  • GPU: Radeon RX 9070 XT (Likely the XFX Mercury model - buying in BR for that sweet 3-year warranty)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite V2 (Picking this up in Paraguay - ~$120 USD savings)
  • RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30 (Waiting for the AI-driven RAM price spike to settle by Oct)
  • Storage: 2TB M.2 Gen4 NVMe (Kingston NV3 or similar - Paraguay pick-up)
  • PSU: 850W Full Modular ATX 3.1 (Likely the MSI MAG A850GL)
  • Case: Dual-chamber "Aquarium" style (Looking at the Lian Li O11 Dynamic or MSI Pano M100R)

A few questions for the experts:

  1. RAM Pricing: With the current DRAM shortage due to AI server demand, do you think prices will stabilize by Q4 2026, or should I bite the bullet now if I find a "decent" deal?
  2. Power Headroom: Is 850W the sweet spot for the 9070 XT, or should I jump to 1000W to be safe for future RDNA5/6 upgrades?
  3. Aesthetics: Any recommendations for an "All-Black" aquarium case that doesn't sacrifice too much airflow? I'm currently leaning towards Lian Li.

Feedback on the parts list or brand reliability (specifically for the B650/9070 XT combo) would be much appreciated!
