What major transport policy announcements do you think each party will make ahead of the election?

In my opinion I’m not expecting much more in terms of infrastructure, more so a focus on delivering more services and optimising things.

I’m a bit unsure regarding SRL, I feel like it would be too late and too expensive now to cancel the project considering how much work has been done. There seems to be lots of benefits and risks.

How are you feeling?

Melbourne’s Pop-Up Bike Lanes: Genius or Chaos?

Melbourne is trialing a temporary bike lane method in order to make biking around the city much safer. I find that this is a genuinely transformative project for my city.

I was recently in the Armadale area and over the High St bridge (where route 6 travels over Frankston/Dandenong lines) that there are 15km/h speed limit signs for ‘G Class Only’.

Is this an indication of intent to run G Class along this route?

The 828 bus runs from Hampton to Berwick, running via Southland and Dandenong. I believe the 828 is in need of an upgrade as it’s becoming crowded and has weak weekend service.

The route runs every 20 minutes during the weekdays but only every 40 minutes on Saturdays, and hourly on Sunday. The weekend times of operation are also weak, 8am-9pm. It’s common to see the bus crowded on the weekends.

4 railway lines are served by the route, making it a serious connector with the rail network. Connections to the Sandringham, Frankston, Cranbourne and Pakenham lines. It would also help SRL Cheltenham down the road.

A similar upgrade to the 800 bus, which received better weekend service, saw a 200% patronage increase on Saturdays.

I think it’s time we saw this route see some upgrades, I use it frequently but it could be so much better.

Hey guys, I am investigating the impact Parkville station has made on the local community and the rail network, I want to know:

What’s your experience been like with the station? What do you like or dislike about it?

Hi guys, I cover transport and infrastructure related projects and news in one particular province. I’ve realised that my potential growth will be hampered because I’m only serving a particular and specific market, do you think it’s ok to risk spreading out and including other provinces, or perhaps start a new channel to cover other areas?
