I work in an express and our new store manager has brought 2 family members and 2 family friends… they seem to take the overtime away from the original colleagues.. what is the policy on this?

Hello everyone
I’m currently a colleague at an express store, I also run shifts from time to time too… I have been offered a promotion at a different shop, however the shop is smaller the team is not as good and I’m not a huge fan overall. I love my express as it is now but if I do not take the promotion it might not come again for a long while. My main goal within Tesco is to become a store manager and maybe even further…. Is the jump to a shift-lead worth it?

I also get stressed when running the shift but always end up being fine, I have tendency to panic in order to get everything done (I overthink a lot)!!!

In terms of pay is it worth it?

The only reason I’m leaning towards taking this role is for the better transport options and the store opens later and closes earlier, but I can’t think of anymore reasons to take the opportunity apart from to progress.
