Recently I called acer mall durgapur, city centre and asked them if the original acer Nitro 5 135 watt charger is available or not, the store person in the picture asked me 500 INR as security deposit because they have to order it too from Acer. I specifically asked him that I want the original charger and he said yes that will be 100% original and it'll be 4000 INR, I agreed and waited and visited their store. There to my surprise I was greeted with a super cheap 3rd class charger.

The guy said if it's charging it's good. He has no idea about TDP, or that the gaming laptops need a charger to function to its full potential.

After 15 min of 3d mark time spy the charger was uncomfortably hot and I confronted him and refused to pay rest of 3500 Rs, He said that he'll not going to refund the money right now, he can only refund that 500 Rs after that charger is sold and said that it's original because you can see the Acer logo and the label.

He had no idea that Acer doesn't make its own chargers.

As of today I'm 500 Rs in loss and this scammer guy scammed me inside an official acer store. I did not started a quarrel because that's not my nature but if we can't trust official acer store then as an Acer customer I think we all are doomed.

I want advice suggestions that what can I do in this situation?

I have recently repaired my Acer Nitro 5 AN515 44 , They said that the VRMs were fried and they repaired, but now the dGPU is flatlined in Task manager. I haven't run any heavy tasks but usually it shows some graphs but right now it's fully flatline.

My dGPU is dead or what exactly? Please show some insight.

I have recently bought a Polar therm X10 (349 INR) and these thermal pads (1200 INR) for my gaming laptop (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44).

I have changed the thermal paste in the past but with unbranded generic paste from the shop(That brown coloured one for 99 INR or so). Never replaced the thermal putty that came from the factory.

I have bought these from Amazon and want to ask if anyone else has used this thermal paste and how is the result? Do I have to worry about the thermal pad height because I am getting mixed results from internet. 1mm /1.5mm??

I have purchased this laptop (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44) back in 2021, I have been using that, I regularly open this and clean vents and repaste in every one year or so. Recently my laptop suddenly died out of nowhere. I wasn't even doing any high performance work just 20+ chrome tabs and 3 word documents open (not much wattage draw ig).

I have been watching on different public forums that in the past 2 weeks many Acer Nitro AN515 models are dying like flies. No explanation nothing. I believe there's a big red button at the Acer headquarters, they see slow sales and they kill their old models so at least 50% of people will switch to newer models. Because this laptops have served their users well for the past 4- 5 years the public has trust in this company and they probably think we'll go back to Acer again.

I don't know if it's all true or not but this theory fits right logically. What do you think?
