Most habit apps feel like toys. I wanted something that actually treats self-improvement like a system — habits, workouts, macros, journaling, and an AI coach that knows your real data.
So I built Northstar. It's free, no ads, works on any phone, and the AI coach actually reads your numbers — if you missed 4 habits today or you're 60g short on protein, it knows and gives you specific advice instead of generic motivation quotes.
What it includes:
- Daily habit tracking across 5 life pillars (mind, body, mastery, social, wealth)
- Workout logging with built-in programs + custom builder
- Macro & meal tracking with a "describe your meal" feature that calculates macros automatically
- AI coach personalised to your actual data
- Journal, book recommendations, XP system
It's a PWA (progressive web app) so it installs like a real app — no App Store needed. Instructions below.

Would genuinely love to know what's missing or broken. I'd rather have 10 honest opinions than 100 silent users.
