



5’7 150 lbs - Directionless and need guidance on next steps.
Long story short I’ve been training a few years, spinning my wheels, scared to cut, scared to bulk too much in case I get fatter, and under the impression maingaining/recomp doesn’t work and is just a way for influencers to sell digital products.
I trained with my Dad the entire time who has good size but hates his large stomach, doesn’t track his food because he ‘doesn’t believe in it’ and eats way too much sugary food like cakes etc for ‘energy’.
I’m pretty depressed because I hate my body and don’t know how to address it. I’ve put in lots of effort that’s more or less been wasted.
I have switched gyms to a closer gym so I can go alone, am considering getting a PT to help give me a direction but I don’t want to waste the money, if they don’t set me up in the right direction. I don’t know whether to ‘bulk and deal with the fat loss phase later’, recomp or cut.
Any comments/help/guidance/support would be hugely appreciated.
