S23U user here. Love this phone. Bought it in July 2023.
Been a great ride but lately the phone will go from 95% to 2% usually what happens is the keybord or camera stop working and so I restart the phone and it decides its at a whole new percentage. It's gone from 65 to 0. 45 to 0. 15 to 0.
I have also noticed it will take a very long time to charge. Sometimes 3 to 4 hours on a fast charger even. Other times it will stay stuck at something say 38% charged, I reset it. And its will then say a whole new number like 76%
I went to try to get the battery replaced and they told me my battery was actually fine, but a chip on the motherboard that monitors its percentage is compromised and that I should just buy another phone. This was a Batteries Plus store.
Would a new battery be worth it? Or is it time to retire?
