I wanted to thank you all for your advice on how to approach the Zimbabwean guy at my school as a white girl. As per your advice, I asked him about soccer and he talked about it passionately. He hadn't really paid attention to me until I walked up to him after his presentation. It's been a few days now and we have been in talking for hours on end over the phone and whenever we meet. I see this becoming serious long term because he's clearly interested. As such, I was thinking of getting him soccer cleats or a shirt of his favorite European soccer team called Arsenal. Is this too much this early on? I told him I love cookies and he brought me Crumbl cookies and flowers when we went for our "date"
