Hey y’all, I’ve been revisiting old Newgrounds nostalgia and there’s one Flash game I cannot remember the name of. It was a very short old-school Flash/Newgrounds game that I played while in High School, probably somewhere between 2006–2010. The art style was pretty simple, the classic "Flash art" from that era if I remember correctly.

The game was pretty simple from start to finish, basically:
- You start the game getting the sword/upgrade.
- Next screen, you break to objects to trigger the boss fight
- I don't remember much of the boss fight but I am pretty sure the final phase was a UFO.
- After beating the final phase of the fight, the game becomes an escape platformer with a time limit.
- Ending scene was basically a "Jump for the chopper!" scene that was a classic meme from the action movies.

The biggest thing that I'm able to remember was the combat/movement mechanic, where you could jump while spinning your sword - kind of like combining Samus's Screw Attack with Link's Spin Slash. While you were spinning, you could bounce of enemies and walls, and it was essensial for the platforming section.

I very vividly remember cheesing the UFO phase of the boss by starting a spin attack right as he spawned and repeatedly bouncing on him during the spin attack to avoid all of his boss mechanics, but if I messed up and fell then I had to do all the boss mechanics again. I don't remember too much else about the boss fight but I'm pretty sure the phase before that you had to fight a giant enemy where you used your spin attack to jump over him when he charged at you. (The boss was in the background and when you broke the beakers he came out and fought you.)

The whole game was super short, basically just Get Sword Spin > Multi Phased Boss fight > Platforming Escaping > Ending. It was short enough to finish the entire game in a 30 minute window with time to spare, but it did seem like it was part of a larger episodic series? But I don't remember ever finding any sequals or prequels to the game, so I'm pretty sure it was a stand alone series but I might be mistaken.

Anyone remember this?
